ok, i got a sulfur denitrator and it has been working for about a week now. the nitrates coming out of it are at 0, but the nitrites are at 5ppm. i tested the water in the tank and the nitrites are at 0. what the heck do you think i should do?
ammonia 0
ph 8.2
it is a 110 reef.
thanks

First of all, i've posted questions about de-nitrators here and on other forums...the reason i think you (and i) have not got many responces, is because few use/made there own, and rather lower there nitrates nauturaly.
hummm i've been doing alot of reading about de-Nitrator...and everyone i've talked to said it takes months to get there trates to 0(the first week, should be dripping 2~4 drops a second my the end of the first week)...i'm concerned that you may have gone to fast...in turn releasing *hydrogen sulfide* into the tank...there for it may have something to do with it.
I'd like to see what your reason for the nitrites being high...i may run into this in the future. Let me know.

If the flow rate is too high, you will detect nitrites
or nitrates in the output water.
- If the flow rate is correct, you should obtain 0 nitrates.
