nitrites still high!!!

My tank is on its 38 day of cycling, and nitrites are still high.my ammo is 0. its a 55 with(started with 5 damsels now 3) a pieace of lr about 7 lbs, and a hermit crab. I have cc, wet/dry. I was waiting to replace cc with Ls when my lr came in( I ordered it online). I have been using cycle, but after my cycle had already started , will it help if I replaced my cc to Ls now or wait a little more.
let me know any info will help (its frustrating!!!)

If you are going to make the substrate change, then I say do it now....You tank is just going to cycle again anyway when you make the change, so might as well get it over with.
