Saturday is one week and still not even a drop of foam in collection cup. i havent done a water change in a month so i thought it would of accumilated some foam in collection cup already.. should i return or wait?
yes there is a tornado made of bubbles and there falling into tank. the unit is 1 week old. the air adjuster is on minimum. only a small amount of air is moving along in the tube.still no foam
Try turning your air up a little. This will add more air into the vortex and increase the amount of bubbles for the protein to attatch to. You will need to keep an eye on it though and increase it in steps. Too much and you will get more water tahn protein. Too little and you will not have enough to lift the protein. If you take it too high, you may remove too much water and cause your cup to overflow.
Good luck and be patient with this.
P.S. forgot to add this in.. If your tank is new you will have very little Dissolved Orgaincs (proteins) to be removed. After a while they will build up and then you should see the skimmer really go into action..
I have the same problem now. I had the tank set up for 4 months and it was pulling crap out all the time, until 2 weeks ago, it seems to be out of wack, the adjustments seem to never make it pull the same stuff out.
My seaclone works best with the air turned almost all the way up... If it quits skimming shut the unit down for at least 10 min to let the salt in the airline dissolve.. i have to do that from time to time and it works great!!
yes guys i turned up the air and i`m getting some foam in cup. alot of bubbles though.i`v got the unit mounted in the corner with the intake pushed up against the glass. should that make a difference? or should the side with powerhead be facing the middle of tank?
