skirrby Active Member Apr 9, 2004 #2 the ph would be lower with the lights off.. i dont think it would constantly drop though. the reason the ph goes down with the lights off is because there is nothing doing photosyenthisis(sp?) in the tank which helps to keep the ph up. hth!
