Power has been off about an hour and a half now.....how long should I wait before I start hooking powerheads up to my inverter?????
Already have inverter in house....hooked up to a spare battery....watching the ballgame, charging computer and phone....LOL.....
if need be, I can run it out to the car too
Danny is at work, and I do not think I could move the generator on my own

You can look at the fish and if they are breathing rapidly and are sluggish then you may need to start the PHs.

I hate this kind of stuff....cause you just never know how long it will be.....BUT I have to say.....I am always prepared....LOL
All seems to be well.....one Koralia evo seems to be having an issue.....It may need a new impeller.....you know I HATE THESE THINGS......either they run backwards or not at all, and you have to beat them up to get them to work right
I may just turn it off for now

Ugh I hate when power dies. I don't have an inverter, but I have a backUPS computer backup that I keep plugged in.
Question. What size koralia evo is giving u problems? The evo line was supposed to have fixed all the reverse-start problems that the originals sometimes had. I have two 750 egos that never gave me problems, and a little 420 Nano that occasionally acts out.

The ones that give me problems are the 1050, 1400, and the 550 nano......I also have a 750 and 1050 that are ok (so far)

When the power goes out, I resort to two things. One being the generator but I do not resort to it unless the power is out for 2+ hours.
The best little investment is to use Hush Bubbles, a battery power aerator for live wells. It uses two D batteries.

I looked it up...because it sounds good but it only is good for 5g to 7g of water...I would need a crap load of them to keep my tanks going.

The power was out for 2 days and I didnt have a generator and 2 of these aerators kept my 200g critters alive.
Sweet...I'm going to order me some...power went out last summer for 4 days, I lost 3 of my fish including a Hippo tang I had since it was the size of my pinky nail...it was 5 inches when it died...I sobbed. I have a generator and I might get another one since I now need to run two chillers as well.
