I was checking on the fish and noticed my coral beauty kept annoying my coral bandid shrimp. Coral beauty kept swimming right next to the shrimp. Im thinking, "ok thats a bad idea fishy" then the shrimp starts cleaning the fish!!!!!!!
I never knew they did that! HA

That is really rare, do you realize that? They can do that (obviously), but most CB shrimps will just leave fish alone. Very cool!
Stick your hand right next to and see if it'll clean it

Well it was funny because the fish was being stubborn and was just hanging right there next to him and the shrimp would nudge him with his elbow, the fish would get mad and poke at him and then stay there waiting. Finally I guess the shrimp had enough and starting cleaning him for about 7-9 seconds and then the fish swam away.
Crazy

In nature. I know that they are cleaner shrimp, but I've heard that they very rarely set up cleaning stations in reefs...or maybe that's just when compared to skunks.
quote from fishlore:
The Coral Banded Shrimp is usually lumped in with the other cleaner shrimps but this behavior is not often seen in the home aquarium. Many hobbyists have noted that they have never seen this shrimp clean fishes.

Well this is a case in which experience trumps research. I've never had one personally, but I see them all the time at the lfs...never seen them clean...then again I haven't seen skunks clean at the lfs either.
I'm here to learn, thanks for the help

The only time that I have personally seen a CBS clean a fish was when one caught a coral cat in his claw and began to "clean" the cat's face as he was eating it... I broke it up but the cat didn't make it.

That's cool. I would be scared though. The CBS just look so tough, and I'd be worried about it attacking my fish.
My cleaner (now dead) never cleaned any of my fish. I think it's because all my fish are small though.
Do blood shrimp every clean? (mine never has in over a year).
