Hi. On overflows, tubing, bulkhead etc.... When they say it is a 1" bulkhead and such, do they mean 1" across the hole where the water comes out, or do they measurethe layer of tubing and the hole water comes out?
Hah, i explained this wrong, but why im asking is because i recently found my overflow, and it measured 1"(which is 600gph i believe) and wondering if it is good enough for a 90 gallon. Plus the owners before me used a rio 2100 for return pump(692gph).
here is a pic of what i mean.....
That is the top of my wet/dry filter, and the dimensions off the overflow are the same. Think that would be about 600 gph?
If this made absolutely no sense please post what info you would like

yes it would be a 1" hole for the water to pass through which would yeild 700gph max but 600pgh is an excelent gph to send through. Rio pumps arent the best. I would really go with something like a mag 9 or something depending on your head pressure.

a 1" bulkhead will allow way more flow than 600 or even 700. I have 2 of them in my 300 gallon and 1500 gph going back to the tank. My bulkheads aren't having any problems keeping up with 750 gph through each.

Well it does appear that is a 1" hole. However you cannot put a 1" bulkhead in there. I have one on my desk right now and the outside dimension of the bulkhead is a little over 1 3/4". I also have a 3/4" bulkhead and the outside dimension is 1 1/2". I do not know what size bulkhead you could get for a 1" hole. Sorry for the bad news.
