nori and garlic

I purchased some nori both roasted and dried. I have soaked some in garlic juice and some without. My fish do not seem real excited about it..Is this just new to them or required taste? Do I dilute the garlic juice.. I have tried floating and cliping to side of tank.

What kind of fish do you have? I've always used garlic rather than garlic juice...ie crush some garlic, put it in tank water with the nori for a bit then add it. The non-roasted will contain more nutrients for your fish so i'd suggest giving that to them over the roasted variety. But if you don't have omnivores to begin with they won't go for the nori. And even if you do, they still may not, my purple tang loves spirulina, but doesn't care at all about nori--go figure.

I am going to cut back on the feeding a day or so and see if they will take it..leave just the nori in the tank...That is all the store had. ...

Still what type of fish are they? This may not be their natural food in which case it will not nourish them. Leaving it in the tank is a good idea, but if they really aren't going to eat it it could just drive up phosphates and nitrates in the tank. Again, what type of fish do you have?

er, okay, found this in one of your other posts:
FISH
2 LARGE YELLOW TANGS
1 FLAME HAWK FISH
10 GREEN CROMIS
1 BANGAII CARDINAL
2 PERCULA CLOWNFISH
1 NEON DOTTYBACK
6 PURPLE FIREFISH GOBY
6 FIREFISH GOBY
1 SAILFIN TANG
1 REDSEA PURPLE TANG
1 MANDARIN GOBY
1 BLUE CROMIS
1 FLAME ANGEL
2 ANTHIAS
only the tangs really are likely to eat the nori and maybe the angel. the tangs may not be interested cause it's roasted. Or they just may not be interested. Or it may be a matter of time for them to grow to like it. But I'd be hesitant on easing off feeding all these other fish just to force a few tangs to eat roasted nori.

thanks leigh...I was working nts and could not answer the question about the fish.. I left some in the tank when I left for wk and it looked like they got hungry..will try it again this morning ...looks like they figured it out. My fish could do with a diet anyway..I usually keep Kale in thank 24/7, and feed daily with frozen mystic shrimp, shrimp pellets, flake food. They are fat. want this for the garlic more than anything.

You can soak all the other food in garlic too so that even the non-nori eating fish get the benefits.
