Normal LTA

One or three of my LTAs tentacles will deflate and then inflate some times. Is this normal, or is it a water flow issue?

If it is only one or three from the many tantacles, then you don't need to worry. But if half of the entire tentacles are deflating then it may be a bad sign.

What would that bad sign be? So one or two tentacles deflating every once in a while is a normal thing for a LTA to do?

Anemones deflate for a number of reasons. After they have eaten, getting ready to split or getting ready to expell waste. They do weird things all the time, bottom line is, if it is eating and or has good color is inflated most of the time especially when the lights are on and its tenticles are sticky. Then IMO its okay.

Its whole body never deflates..just some of its tentacles. I think you just decribed a bta. I have never heard of a lta totally deflating unless its sick or about to die. I keep feeding it but I have never seen it expell waste like a bta. This lta has been a hardy eater since day one. On the first day after I added it to my tank it wanted food. Since this is my first LTA I am not use to how it behaves, so I am wondering if what it does is a common thing that other LTA's do?

Most all anemones will exhibit some sort of deflation at times its not specific to species.

many anemones do deflate on a regular basis. COMPLETELY deflate as a way to expel water and the wastes in it, and reflate with clean water " a fresh start" Many anemones do this on a daily basis.
Do you feed your LTA every day? If he doesnt have to wait a few days for food here and there, he will not open as much as he doesnt need to 'catch' anything. Anemones get used to eating and get 'spoiled' kind of.
Can you post more information about your tank like temp, lighting, nitrates, etc.
What are you feeding and how often.
What size tank is he in?

An LTA can compleatly deflate and withdwal under the sand in 2 seconds....its a natural defence for them..they also do this slower as a way to do a water change as said....a few deflated tenticals are nothing to worry about. FME.
