Isn't Phyto too small for the zoanthids to eat. I though that was for filter feeders?

I've heard that before then I've heard that phyto wasn't to small so i don't know. but i don't think I'm hurting anything to throw it in there.

No doubt, but Phyto is insanely small. I use it for my Chili Cactus.

what would you recommend? i'm just fishing for ideas

Honestly, I have no idea. You could try to target feed with Cyclopeeze, that is a nicer size. I feed my Blasto's, Duncan and Paly's Hikari Ocean plankton. They seem to respond well to it.
I rarely feed my Paly's and never feed my zoa's and it seems like a lot of people that I have read seem to agree that feeding them yields no growth results. If it's working for you, I would continue it. I'm on the fence right now as I don't really know what to think on the subject.

I don't know if this makes any sense but I find the frags in my "zoo garden" grow quicker when placed closer together, as compared to the odd frag placed here and there -- I think they compete!!

This hobby is about patience. You can't force something to grow faster. Provide good water conditions and lighting and they will grow.
