Bad water, late water changes, phosphates, over feeding, bad bulbs are all causes...start checking them off the list to find the problem in your tank..

SCRUB IT OFF BEFORE IT SPREADS!
SCRUB THE ROCK AND WAS OFF WITH SALTWATER. THEN DO A MORE THAN USUAL WATER CHANGE TO REMOVE THE PHOSPHATES. AND THEN STOP DOING WHAT FLOWER SAID LOL.
Trust me, you do not want it to spread or it will take forever to remove again. Get it under control while you can.

Thanks, I was doing some reading today, And all point to what you guys said i tested last week after a water change and the readings are
nitrate .05
Phospate 0.0
Cal 520
I use all Ro Water
But, But, Its been about 1 1/2 years since i changed the bulbs Im thing this might have started it i do water changes every 2 weeks atleast drain the tank half way , its a 40 gal FOWLR.
Now the hair isnt bad looks like to me its just starting, funny thing is its nowhere on the back of the rock ,but just starting on the front of the rock that faces the front of the tank
also i was thinking of getting a Lawnmover blenny Would this help? and upping my clean up crew.

is sunlight hitting the front of your tank? if so that could be the culprit.

Good Morning, So i went to the LFS the other day to look for a blenny. Anyway the guy there recomended to me the Sea Hair, I have to hand it to the guy he was right. After i accumeulated him i put him on a rock with green hair alge and after he moved the rock was completely clean, no alge or brown or red alge. so far he has totaly cleaned 2 rocks.
