i have be been reading one of my books and it said to cycle the tank be for adding lr? it didn't say any thing about ls. I have freshwater tank can i use rocks from that tank to help cycle the swt.

add your live sand and live rock right away while its cycling, otherwise the tank will never cycle

You cannot use fresh water rocks to cycle a SW tank.
Add the sand and rock to cycle the tank. Watch your ammonia and do water changes when it approaches 1ppm.
