now paranoid, are these safe?

After the near disaster of not doing research before using silicone in the tank (then finding out I used the right stuff) I am now carefull.
I have some felt padding and I want to submerse it underneith my return pump to dampen the vibration. Is this ok or will it leach chemicals.
I have some hardening puddy that I bought to fix a leak in the pvc. It says that it is safe for pottable water. Therefor, it should be safe to use in the tank in case I want to stick some live rock together or something right?
Thanks for any advice.

I am not sure, but if you havent already added water to your sump what if you put some of that silicone down on the glass bottom and then put the pump on top of that to absorb the vibrations?

something better to use would be some foam insulation from home depot.
Be very, very careful about the putty.
