Cindy, I may have one but I am not sure. My water is fine and I can't think of anything else that could be making my fish disappear. I had a small GSM disappear last night so I moved all my LR and there is no sign of him. He was the mate to a large female GSM that is still in the tank. They were together at the LFS for about 3 months before I bought them.
Other MIA:
3 percula clowns
1 royal gramma
All of my fish that go missing are under 2" and there is never a carcass left in the tank. I only have 3 SLHC so I don't think they could eat the entire fish that fast.
What do you think?

paco, watch in the evening, they like to hang upside down under the rocks (at least my guy did) they blend in very well and sometimes are impossible to see. i would guess it is very well possible you have a monster. l litterally saw this guy trying to eat my serpent star and got a chunk off one of his legs (thats the day we were finally able to get him out)
i never had a carcas left of any kind either, and no amonia spikes.

hey, I just caught the exact same crab in my tank while moving it. I removed it to try and find out what the hell it is. Can anyone ID these crabs. Mine is IDENTICAL. I have him in a plastic tub with about 10gallons of old tank water. So do I put him back in the tank, or get rid of him.

I had a killer crab, too! Luckily I was watching my tank one evening after I fed the fish and a nassarius snail came out of the sand and started searching for food and BAM - the killer crab struck and killed the snail. Then my peppermint got close and he tried to grab him. He got away but it might have been injured as he is now missing.
I got the crab out by feeding the tank to see what rock he was in and I just took the rock out and shook it over a bucket and he fell out. I couldn't kill the crab - and you can't release it in the wild. So it's hanging out in the sump right now...

Had one like that in a reef tank I set up. Took me awhile to figure out what was killing my inhabitants.
