I am talking about the tone of the article. I really didn't see any specifics listed which is pretty typical for BSNBC, they throw crap out these with no substance to back up their assertions.
You should read some of the stuff written by the houston chronicle. It is hilarious!

Thats the thing, If you are going to talk right wing radical give me examples. It would make their case stronger if they did. But of course they are just using buzz words to push their agenda rather than report on the news.
What really cracks me up is that why all the left wingers attack FOX their ratings continue to soar. I don't think the country is getting more conservative so why are foxes rating going up?

People mistake it for Comedy Central.
That, or they turn to Fox News expecting to see American Idol, 24, or The Simpsons.

Exactly what is the 'tone' of the article? I read it, and it sounded to me they were reporting the issues. There were no false statements about how the meeting was clearly partisan politics. The board consisted of 10 Republicans and 5 Democrats, and pretty much every vote that came up was voted 10-5 'For' or 10-5 'Against', depending on what they were voting on.

It starts out with "A far right faction" and also brands them as "Ultra Conservatives"
If either was true there would have been some truly controversial actions taken.

I guess I am out of the loop, are religious studies classes no longer offered at the high school level at all in this country? Seems like no matter what your political stance, by not learning about it, your history education would not be very complete.

I never recall religious studies ever being part of the public school system, at least not in Texas. That's been a debate for quite some time here. The State Education Board has been debating the last several years about allowing Creationism being taught in the Texas public school system. The argument is they teach Evolution, so why not Creationism? That's where separtion between church and state comes in.

I am a Evangelical Christian and my view on this is you teach:
1) The original European immigrants were people seeking religious freedom.
2) The Country was created by people who took steps to insure the government couldn't interfere in our religious practices
3) The country is being destroyed by godless liberals who.... (Just kidding)
3) Some people think we evolved from an ape like substance and some think we were created by a higher being.
I just don't think we need a lot of religion in the public schools. Too many different ones to cover and the schools are already wasting time on too much crap that they shouldn't meddle in, I see no reason to add more.

But I think this would still offend some? I have no idea, but do 'all' religions believe in the concept of a higher power? Something like reincarnatists? No higher power, we just keep coming back, or at least I think that's what they think...
And what you necessarily teach about Creationism, that applies to all religions (major at least)? Couldn't you just have the teacher preface the parts of science class that might contradict a student's beliefs?

There is always somebody who will find a reason to be offended but I think people basically fall into two categories, Evolution and creationism. I would assume the reincarnation theory has a higher being running the show too.

There is also a large group of people (myself Included) that believes in Creationism through evolution.

The two do not have to be separate, unless of course 7 days is literally taken as 168 hours. And even then you could ask 7 days to whom as their are theories of time differences between the higher beings and ourselves.
