nuisance hair algae

having ca, ph, and alk right in your tank help keep down nuisance hair algae, and will my lights have much to do with it, what can i get rid of it with or can i. two flourescent 40w bulbs. blue and white

Don't forget water quality. Er well nitrates and phosphates are a part of water quality. I would check those two. You must effectively starve the algae to control it. Lights on about 8-10 hours, feed less, and always use RO water. To eat it get mexican turbos, lawnmower blennies or bicolors,
