ok .. that's understandable .. but that might be why the clownfish is sleeping like that ... do you know if your clownfish was aquacultured or wild?

I don't know? Do you think If I called the LFS I got him at like 4 months ago would know do they always get one or the other. I really wish I knew?

I don't know if your LFS would know or not but it's worth a try to call them .. the only difference that would make is that a wild clownfish would need an anemone and that's why it's sleeping like that ... it's going through anemone withdrawll or something ... but if it's aquacultured the anemone might not have anything to do with it ... it may be a sign of bad health ... or it could be something completely normal .. ask your lfs ...

in most cases .. yes .. but I have read about some clownfish needing anemones from the wild and my clownfish have never slept on their sides before and they all have anemones so I just figured that might be the case here ... but maybe I'm wrong

My first ocellaris slept near the water line, and as long as he appears to be behaving normal during the day I'd say he's fine.

Theres a good chance,if you bought from a LFS, that your ocellaris is farm raised. Good luck....it sounds like it's alright though.
