ocellaris clown

can an ocellaris clownfish live just fine without an anenomne? if it doesnt have one will it have a shorter life span or anything? i wanna put a pair in my FOWLR and i wanna know if its alright. i plan on getting anemone's and all (going reef) but that wont be for another 6-8 months

Well I cant really help you out too much cause i havent even started my first tank yet, but i posted something similar to you, asking if clown fish do ok without anemones and everybody seemed like they would be just fine, I would listen to other people but thats the feedback i got.....well good luck.....post some pics of your FOWLR if you can:happyfish

I have two clowns in my tank that have been there for well over a year and I have never had an anemone. They will do just fine without one and may take host in a coral.
Buy a tank raised clown if you can find them . . . less likely to know what an anemone even is, and they are hardier fish.

thanks yall. there is a ***** store thats having a grand opening and they are selling their clowns for 9 bucks so i think ima go get one. i figure that since they are just opening all the tanks will be kept up for at least a little while.thanks again

I'd still be hesitant . . . .
