answer is yes, but only with fish that are much larger than the octopus, im not sure exactly what all they eat, but there really cool, do a search, theres someomne on here that has an octopus, just cant remember there name. todd
Well...
1. They eat fish and inverts... if they can catch it they will eat it.
2. They are escape artists. Literally. You better have one heck of a lid.
3. I don't know for a fact, but I'd guess bio load is fairly large.
eel,
If you are serious about keeping one, I'd suggest some "practice" with FOWLR for a while. From what I've read octopus are extremely sensitive to water chemistry. Even in a healthy tank, most don't live more than 18-24 months.
As journeyman said, they are escape artists. If their eye will fit through a hole they can get their whole body through.
As you can probably guess, I did a lot of research because I too wanted to keep one. Unfortunately, my wife is certain it would get out of the tank, "walk" to the back of the house, climb up the stairs, then sneak into our bed and attack her in the middle of the night.
I have a guy you can talk to his octo laid eggs and hatched them she then died "as all female otco's do after rearing young" and now he has lots of little babies and rasing them fine like to your email and I will have him get in contact with you.
