Depends on how large each were. In the end youd have either 1 lionfish or 1 octopus. I assume youve seen that ever popular video of the octopus eating a shark?
Jon
I kept an octo with a clown and a blue damsel for over a year before the oct died with no problems. The oct only wanted to eat hermit crabs, which is what I fed him. I tried frozen foods but he would only eat live hermits, nothing else. He never even seemed to notice the two fish I had in tank with him. Octs are smart, very smart, so mayber this was just his personality.
I wouldnt do it.
The only safe things to really keep with an Octo is a starfish, and pencil tip urchins.
Everything else is just something waiting to happen to either side.
With the MANY, MANY Octo posts we have here...ALL of which explaining Octopus demand species only tanks, why would you even ask this question?
It's a flat no...no fish, inverts, etc. that you do not consider food. If the Octopus does eat the fish, the fish will eat of the Octo.
well jeez dude i was just seeing if it might work, if i got a consesnsus of no i didnt plan on doing it. i know ur thinking it helps but if ur trying to help ppl learn u need to be less critical
