I'm shopping for a new skimmer for my new 75 gallon and this seems like a good buy. Anyone have any experience with them?? Are they good skimmers?? I currently have a Seacrap 100 which I have yet to get to work.

I have the 150 model.. Its great! Got a fishing line mod just to increase the density of the foam when its in the body and a gate valve mod to make for even easier water adjustments..

I just bought the 2009 model NWB150. Its a good skimmer. No break in perior for me. Within mins it was pulling crap out. $185 and that included the S&H.

I have the 200 model and would be very interested in your mods. I find the bubble adjustement to be a real issue. Thanks.

The fishing line mod is rather simple.. Just take it and weave it around the needle wheel over and over and over and over.. It will create a web that chops the water about 200x better than before to create a more dense foam action.. The Gatevalve mod is easier to explain if I load a picture of it.. Keep in mind I dont have a great pic but you can see it somewhat..

The taller pipe on the left is for excess water to bleed off.. The gate valve in the middle is is for making very small adjustments to the water level inside the skimmer that also effects the water that is coming out (elbow on the far right turned down under water)
Just take the adjustment pipe out of the skimmer and pop that whole rig in that place and set to go.. I dont know the sizes off hand without pulling it all out and checking and I dont see myself doing that tonight..LOL

How about mods for the new Oct skimmers. The gate mod is great for the older Oct skimmers but the new model basically comes with a somewhat gate mod already.
