Octopus skimmer... how noisy?

I bought an Octopus 150 and the pump is VERY noisy. However, if i close up the air tube, it is not noisy at all. Is there anything that I can do to quiet it down?

so, the problem is air inlet noise??? If so, you can take a pill bottle and drill two holes int , put a piece of cotton ball in it and connect it to the end of the airline and it will silence the noise. Put one hole in each end withthe lid on and silicone around the hole with the aqirline inserted.

It wasn't air inlet noise, it was pump noise... but it seems to have quieted down after a few hours. We'll see if it comes back.

might just be breaking in. You can always cut a mouse pad and place under it to reduce noise too.

Did you buy it new or used.I bought a brand new nw200 and it came with a muffler to put on the end of the airline intake.
