Odd swimming ?

So, I got a CB Yellow seahorse today, she seems to have odd behavior, shes eating fine, but .. she likes to float to the top and let the current push her back down. There is SOO many places for her to cling to and is generally the best tank possible for a seahorse tank. Is this swimming .. odd ? Its like she just floats not using any body movement up, gets pushed back down , then uses her body to swim back up and do it all over again , I'm worried she will wear her self out!
If you want Pics of the tank I'll take um. Would take me time is all .

I know this happens to most fish when they have a swim bladder disease.Maybe gas bubble disease?
Is your current very strong in the tank?It may be to strong for the horse.I don't have any horses yet but it doesn't sound normal.
I am sure someone will give you a much better answer.
Try not to worry too much as fish feel our stress.

well the tank my LFS kept her in did not show sign of that gas bubble, and i watched her for about 30 min before i got her, she was very active, unlike her other tank mate who kinda just hitched the ride on the rock. So I'm hopping this is just her personality , shes wrapped around a rock now just eying things, but I have to admit, I'm a little worried due to this being the firs t time i have ever gotten a seahorse.

Horses are not as stationary as you'd think. Valiant loved to play in the return flow. He rarely hitched. Always curious and wanted to see what was going on outside the tank.

Is this what your horse is doing?

Seahorse in particular can run into problem with Gas Bubble Disease (GBD) which can be categorized into 3 main categories: Internal Gas Bubble Disease (IGBD), external (EGBD) and sometimes it's air in their pouch or in the lining of their pouch dubbed Pouch Emphysema (PE).
Pictures would definately help. A video would be superior.

I have also seen this behavior in a newly added seahorse, as well as some "established" inhabitants. They do seem to enjoy playing in currents and using the current as a "ride". Or so it appears!
It doesn't sound like she is describing GBD. GBD will make a seahorse look extremely uncoordinated and awkward. It is usually painfully clear that there is a problem.
For myself, I have never purchased another animal that could be worrisome the way these animals are. It's hard to remember they are a fish.
I think it may be the fact that they are vertically inclined and able to move their head and eyes independently. It definitely adds to the character they present.

OMG YEA Rykna! thats EXACTLY what she is doing! And i agree, I am so used to seeing fish swim that .. when you watch a ponie swim odd like, you're kinda iffy, seeing a fish swim in those patterns is clear signs of oh no! lol. She is doing great! She doesn't have a tank mate yet but will soon. She is really interested in her own reflection meaning to me she wants another ponie to butt heads with, seeming thats what shes doing to her own reflection. :) We named her Pandora. I'll try to get some pictures of her later today or tomorrow. Thanks every one for the help!

Glad to help
All of us here on the forum are more than happy to lend a "fin".
I can't agree more with Michele. If any other fish started swimming like a seahorse I would be worried, unless it was a clown

Can't wait to see pics of your beautiful horse!

What, no pics yet?
I'm glad Rykna's videos helped put you at ease...these buggers can be goofy! I spend more time in front of my seahorse tank than I do in front of my reef, and I'm probably not the only one...
Just out of curiosity, what type of tank do you have, and what species seahorse?
