I was told that seahares can poison your tank and kill everything in it if they get upset.
Take out your rock and crub off the hair algea, rinse it with saltwater and replace it back into the tank.
If you took care of why you had it in the first place then there is no problem to have it grow back.
This is what i did, and the problem is gone now.

I had a seahare and it would eat hair algae but one day I found my coral banded shrimp eating him. Not sure if the CBS killed the seahare or it just died and then the CBS found it. Either way my seahare only lived about a week.

Wrong, seahares are in the mollusk family, not the nudibranch family. They do not release toxins in a similar fashion.
However, one can rot in your tank if you leave it in there and that can definetly cause problems.
Also there is not a better hair algae eater than a sea hare.

I was told sea hares would starve to death without hair algae, so I would get him let him clean your tank, and if your water is straight it should not come back, then take him back to the LFS for credit. ;)
