Improve the light for sure. Birdsnest will bleach, I can pretty much guarantee. Mine is under my 150 watt about 6" below and has at least 20 new bumps on it, which could turn into new branches.

Test kits? You have a nano right? I use a K2 and all my SPS love it. Are you using the stock PC fixture? If so I might hold off on the birdsnest, or you might lose your money

oh. i have the kit but all it has is the ammonia, nitrate, nitrites, ph. and i have the bio cube 29. so the k2 is better?

You can buy calcium and alkalinity. Make sure the waters good before buying it. I like the K2 but you have to angle it correctly or itll piss off your other corals

birdsnests require a lot of light, much more so than many other sps corals. 72w of PC will not be adequate. I have mine in the top 6 inches with 312W of T5HO and they still do not have the best color.

I got a frag last month of some green body/purple polyp birdsnest. Right now its body is just starting to turn green, and the polyps have been purple. Its under 5" of 150 watt 20k MH

montipora digitata is one of the less light requiring sps. you may be able to get away with it very high up, but just dont expect to much when it comes to its coloring.

i was planning to put it atleast like 1"-2" inch ways for the top. is that good? and what will happend to the color?

honestly, it wouldnt be too bad to try a monti cap or monti digi. I have pieces of orange monti cap that have broken off and are practically in the shade and are still orange. They dont grow much, but they have kept most of their color. So maybe an orange or green cap would be something easy to try.
