Off Topic.....How Many Have Tasted Their Saltwater?

Just curious....Had my first experience this weekend. Was trying to get the drip line going and not paying attention to the water already in the line. One strong pull and ""WHAM"" a mouth full of salt water!
Who else?

I did it trying to get a backpack started again. Extremly disgusting. However I have never done it again because I went to the petstore and bought a range of syringes in all kinds of sizes. There the kind you would use to feed small animals with. They are very handy for starting siphons, and I find that a little one makes it much easier to get the right amount water into the testubes when doing water tests. I think it's kindoff a pain getting the right amount in there.....

ok i have done it plenty of times trying to get things going. it tastes pretty much like the ocean (isn't that the idea?) and i grew up surfing so it really has no effect on me, its just hey....thats saltwater. ok now who has tasted the salt build ups???? man is that some potent stuff.

yeah ive tasted the salt lick for our horses too....but is it wrong to do so AFTER they have????? ok ok ok onlu joking, i got to it first. one time when i was cleaning out stalls and was real hungry i ate some of their oats. hey they smell real good. unfortunately they dont taste as good, dry, but not too bad, i would do it again. and then everyone has chewed on a twig of hay, thats only natural. never eaten dog food or cat food though (a guy i work with said he has tasted both types....cannned)

This is a strange but funny post :p
I'd guess most of us have had a mouthfull of tankwater at some point, and you learn pretty quick the proper "how to" and "how to not" start a siphon.
I've had my share of tankwater - and it's no big deal.
I do draw the line with protein skimmer skimmate though !
In my opinion, anyone that is out there tasting this stuff should seek professional help

Just the thought of the skimmer junk gags me as much a full glass of saltwater, yeah, yeah I have done it too--Horse salt licks are interesting (before my horse gets it) pretty much just-well salt. As far as cat and dog food goes my kids say it's not bad--I don't know why all little kids gotta try it but they do!
I loved those american pie movies--I crack up everytime someone starts a sentence with "And this one time........."
Yeah I think it's ok to get off track sometimes, especially when we all get a good laugh out of the deal.
