Great. Now my fear of sharks will expand to freshwater.
When I was 7 or 8 my sister snuck me into the theater to see 'Jaws' back in '77. It scarred me for life. Seriously.

Scary, huh? I read about that story in a recent Reader's Digest. Couldn't believe that it happened right in people's back yard. Wow.

scott right click on that link and 'copy shortcut' (ie) or 'copy link location' (netscape).
Control 'v' in your email.

At the top of the post is an option to e-mail this to a friend, that's what I use...quick and easy.
I had nightmares after the first Jaws movie, never saw the second one. I live on the coast of NC and have not been in the water since the movie came out. We have shark attacks on our coast fairly frequently. Besides sharks there are others things in the water that bite....jellyfish, stingrays...and now lionfish have been found in our coastal waters. No thanks, I will swim in the pool!

About 2 years ago, I was swimming in the Gulf with my son, when suddenly this huge dark shape started swimming towards us. The only thing I could think of to do was put my son behind me and tell him not to move. We were to far from shore to try and out swim it.
Turns out it was a manatee, out taking a little jaunt.....but I'll tell you, it scared the bejezzus out of me!! ;)

lol, FishyMissy! That would've scared me too. I remember when I was little, up at our cottage we were just floating in the middle of the lake with our heads above the water and our les hanging down.. Something HUGE just swished right across my leg. At first I thought it was my brothers flipper but he was too far away.. haha, he had to carry me on top of him practically as he swam the half a mile to shore. ;p It was probably just a big fish considering that it was sun set when they come up to feed but it still spooked me.
