<img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" /> IT IS LIGHT BROWN WITH WHITE TENTICLE LOOKING LEGS. THEY LOOK LIKE LEGS FROM A CENTIPEDE. I THOUGHT IT WAS A BRISTLE WORM TO IT LOOKS LIKE IT BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE BUBBLE LIKE TIPS ON THE LEG. WHEN YOU SHINE THE LIGHT ON IT, IT GOES BACK UP INTO THE HOLE. WE ALSO SAW A COUPLE MORE ALTHOUGH THEY ARE QUITE A BIT SMALLER.IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE IDEAS PLEASE LET US KNOW. ALTHOUGH I THINK IT IS A BRISTLE WORM TOO, WE HAVE NO CORAL ONLY LR SO WHAT IS IT LIVING OFF OF??????

Yup, sounds like a bristle worm to me too. They eat leftovers and junk on the substrate. Just don't touch em with bare hands! I read on here where someone touched one and was still sore and swollen over a week later. I have several in my tank and they don't bother anything. If you feel you must get rid of them, look into fish that eat them or traps.

put a piece of red piece of plastic wrap over your flash light, when you shine it in your tank the worms and bugs wont run because the red tint cuts down on the heat from the light. do this and you'll be surprised what all you will see. happy hunting

Yes, they do come all the way out. The problem with seeing them is they are very sensitive to the light. I have heard many times about using the red light to view the tank at night and am looking forward to trying it out, hope it works! I would love to see all of the neat night critters in my tank!
