I was expecting this last night so I knew to get to it after the actinics came on (so I could see) but before the full lights came on.... at which time it would blow.
Nice white caulerpa.

What does white calerpa mean?
I was going to ask how you got the calerpa but then I saw you were hiding from the calerpa police. LOL!

It means that as soon as the lights came on, those bladders were going to release everything it's absorbed. Macros love ammonia and I guarantee you it can cause a spike when it releases it back in. I have no idea where I got my macro from originally. I've had it for many years.

So when you have to pull it out in a case like this are there procedures you use to keep it from ending up in the ocean somehow???

I freeze it for 48 hours. 24 is what is recommended. I just brought the container to the tank, pulled the macro out and threw the container in the freezer.
... with baking soda.

After freexing, is there a ritual burning of the remains, a burial in a vault at some super controlled goverment site etc. etc.?.

The ceremonial walking down the concrete walkway to the trash meant for landfill. Followed by a quick Newfie jig.

I know it's kind of "Do what I say, not as I do". I'm not suppose to have it. But I 100% handle it appropriately and I don't give it out. This is the same stuff I've had for the past 10 years and came with me from Texas. I'm pretty sure all my tanks have some in there.

Bet you touch when someones says not too, huh?
I'm like that, don't tell me no unless there is a good reason. (I know the caulpera reasons, kudos to you for disposing of it the right way.)
