one small tank, with one clownfish huh?
At an absolute minimum, you will need a tank, a basic light, a heater, and some type of basic filter - undergravel filters are OK at best, but can only be used with a gravel/crushed coral bottom, hang on style filters are ok for sand or gravel/crushed coral bottoms.
However, I would recommend a few pieces of Live Rock. This will help with you filtration, and will give the clown some structure to swim around. I would also use live sand as the substrate - you don't need much, but the more the better. If you got enough rock/sand, you could do without the filter, but you would then need to use a powerhead for water movement. The rock/sand would do the filtering for you.

Why don't you get the 25 gallon high and put in a pair. This size tank is not much more money at all and would be a better minimum starter size to keep clown fish healthy and happy. Smaller amounts of water tend to be more unstable, and the fish are not happy in that small of a tank although other people do it, it does not make it right. Make sure that you read up on how to cycle the tank for about a month before you add the fish or they will die. Lesley
