I have had a few fleas jump on me, much to my dismay.. I have an INDOOR cat, so im wondering where they came from, people tell me the stray cats and you bring them in on you on your clothes.. SO I think a while back someone recommended here on the forum that I should try some BORIC ACID, So I went to ACE hardware and bought some powdered BORIC ACID, Now heres my question, How is it applied? I have Hard Wood floors which is kind of ironic because that was one of my reasons for buying this place. I heard "LESS MAINTENANCE and BUGS". DO I sprinkle on the floors or what? THe guy told me little piles in the corners of the rooms? OR WHAT? anybody else experience this? KITTY just had a BATH and was inundated with ADVANTAGE... Thanks in advance!

Fleas have a 11 day gestation period. For fleas you coat everything on the floor. Leave it there for a couple hours then remove it. 11 days later, you reapply and repeat. However i've never head of fleas on non-carpeted floors.

And obviously don't let kitty into that area until it's all cleaned up. I don't have any experience with borax as flea control but I do suggest treating your indoor-only cat with advantage all year long if you live in a warm area, it won't hurt and will nip anything in the bud that does come into your house in the future. (I forgot to look at where you're from, if it's cold in winter only treat in spring/summer/fall)
edit: you're in miami - treat all year long, I've been told the fleas can be very bad there.
