So I got the idea from one of our saltwaterfish.com buddies to buy all frags and not buy full size corals. I have successful bought several polyp frags that I have glued to rocks. They are easy to work with. One store even just let me take loose polyps from there coral tank. Just sitting in the sand.
I have bought 3 shrooms this way. One hairy shroom, One red shroom and one Ricordea. The hairy shroom glued with no issue. The red one I have glued 4 times now and in a matter of hours it comes undone. The ricordea I glued tonight and was off in the sand just a few hours later. I had to turn the lights on to find it.
I have tried gel crazy glue. I have tried a net (on the red) and I have tried placing it in a cup on sand and rock. It looks like it attached to the rock and then I move to rock and slip its gone. Anyone have a sure fire way to attach these little buggers?
The red one curls up in half when ever I touch it or try to glue it. It also does a really big slime. The new ricordea slimed like no-ones nothing I've seen.

How long are you letting the net stay on? You should keep it on for a week or two. I would say at ten days, you would have attachment... Glueing shrooms doesn't work very well. Natural attachment is the way to go. Just make sure you keep them in an area with little to no flow until you take the netting off.

Thanx for the reply. I had that red one netted for 3 weeks.

wow at 3 weeks you should definately have attached. Are you netting tight? My red shrroms attached much quicker than the blue ones. I fragged them to the same rock, and the reds took, but the blues just floated away. I know it can be aggravating. No flow is the trick I think...

Even if you net the shroom for weeks it does not gurantee the shroom will like its new home. It can release and move. I would let them be, they will find a spot they like and attatch there. Once attatched there look for them to be happy and healthy, after all it did pick "The Spot"

Usually they will find the spot the power head approves of!
