This is the things that I have.
Ok guys as I was reading some of the other post I wanted to also say that I have been watching all the post on here for about 3 months. Reading everything I could buy on owning and taking care of a tank.
I am taking my time to do everything right the first time I don't want to kill any fish or anything either.
Things I do have.
Powersweep 228
Crushed coral
Have painted the back of the tank cobalt blue
Deep six hydrometer
and of course the salt.
I do have another question about the lights, I have a 4 tube regular florescent light box that I had at work it fits the tank top perfectly altho I am still having a custom canopy built to use these lights.. Will this be ok for the fish tank it is very bright and lights up the tank well .... with out water for now. My next purchase is going to be the the wet dry filter. Should I wait until I have it to fill and mix the water?
Thanks guys... Floyd

Wait till you have everything set up perfectly. The lights will be fine for fish only. No corals though. You'll need a return pump and overflow box as well as your wet dry and a heater too. You will want a skimmer down the road, no they are not a necessity, but after running one you'll never go back. Good luck. You found a good board to learn on. Try to find a grocery store by you that sells reverse osmosis (RO) water if you can, this will help you have a much healthier tank.

Ill tell you quickly before you lay down the substrate ... Go with sand or Live Sand ... Throw away the crushed coral ... No good will come of it.
