old t5 flickering on and off on fixture????

i got the tek fixture. so the bulbs it came with i removed them cause they were old and faded out. but they still turn on with a snap.
but today i put them on to see how they look and they started flickering on like the faded colors were getting the original colors like the faded blue was the real blue when it flickered on and same goes for purple i guess that was the color.
could it be cause the bulbs are old or something is wrong with the fixture????

Sounds like you got one of the fixtures with workhorse ballasts. Regular T5 ballasts usually shut down with arcing or an open circuit. Check all your lamps to make sure they are making good contact. If one is arcing it could cause the others to flicker.

well these lamps are old. the first time they should it to me all the colors were faded away. like a 10k look yellow and a 12k look white purple but very dim. will do thanks.
but i was also looking and it said that the bulbs need to be replace.

If they are all flickering it sounds like a ballast issue to me. Try fire one lamp and see what happens. If it's a workhorse ballast it will let you do that. Try each lamp and see if there is a bad one.

i got it!!!!! were i was plugging it in it was doing the flickering. but then i plug it to the wall and BAM it works again!!!!
