Hi
i've been out of the saltwater hobby for
over 20 years.I set up my first in 1965
Then the only thing that anyone used was
UG and very little info was available
I'm amazed at how much the hobby has changed. Not only in the number of species
and types available but the range of equipment(not to mention prices) I notice the main theories now are dsb and plenums.
The really positive changes are frameless
tanks ,better salt mixes and artificial lighting. Also the internet gives you a whole range of info(maybe too much?) that you really had to work hard to get back then.
Now that I'm in a stage in life where I have the time and resources to do a better job I think I'll set up a tank but I want to keep butterflyfish and I noticed the info on these is still pretty thin.At least it's possible to get them now.JMO
