Well, I'm pretty excited. I went to work last night and one of the nurses asks me if I would like to have her husband's fish tank...so I ask how big it is...and she says 240 gallons ! She then tells me he wants to sell it for $175! So I say I'll be there with a truck tomarrow. Do you think this is really happening...or did I have a car accident and am in a coma dreaming somewhere????

Why wait, I would have said I was sick and went home and been waiting at her house with a truck when she got off......Why is her husband parting with the tank??? As long as the tank is in decent shape it's definitely a steal!!!!!!!!

Apparently the husband had a couple of tanks in a restaurant he used to own...He probably had someone else working there managing the tanks, and this is why they have sat in his basement for so long...He doesn't know what to do!!!! His wife is making him get rid of them!!!! Now my problem is I could get a truck, but could not get people to help me carry yesterday, so now I'll be away for awhile, and will have to pick the tank up in a week or so...she told me no problem, the tanks not going anywhere... So now, another 240 gallon tank... she measured it its about 6 ft long 24" deep and 20" tall...I don't know it it is drilled, but she said it has alot of "equipment" with it....the stand is a metal stand, so I will need to build a stand. I can take a long time setting it up, because I already have a 200 FOWLR and inverts running fine at home....so I can do good plumbing, etc. I'm thinking even of making some diy live rock and cycling it for months....Everyone can give me ideas for a nice reef tank. There is a god..and she must like me!!!!

With those figures it seems to me that is a 150 gal tank. Still a pretty good deal. Good luck and show pics on tank development if you can.

Ya, "She" must be pissed at me, never a deal like that around here
You could enclose the metal stand w/ wood trim and removable panels. I have one for a 125gal and thinking of doing that myself, unless I find one of those "Deals", then it will probaly go to the pumphouse to hold prop tanks. Nice find

Well I can decide which tank to have as reef...my fowlr is only 18" deep so I'm thinking the deeper tank would be better for reef, then I can figure out later which fish will go where.
