I have a 75 gal with about 120 lbs of LR with about 3-4" DSB. I have read MANY post about how many clean up crew you need. My new set up has been up for awhile now and I only have around 3 Trubo snails, 6 Scarrlet crabs, 1 Salley, 2 Emerald crab, 1 serpant star, 1 horseshoe crab, 1 Sand sifter star fish, 3 bummble bee snails, 5 nas snails (dont remember the full name). I clean the glass on my tank (front and both sides) about every 4 days. My sand bed looks to be pretty clean. LR has wonderful corraline algae on it.
Now I have read on the post that people recommend that you get like 20-30 snails and like 50 scarlet and other crabs. Should I be adding more? If I dont think I need it why add? I do a water change every 3-4 weeks. Is there anything that I need to change that is already in my tank? And why? I'm mostly shocked about how much people suggest that they should place in there tanks. To me it sounds like major over kill. With a bigger clean up crew do you need to feed them more often?
