I have a 135 gal dt with built in overflows (72x18x25) and a 55gal aquarium (48x12x20) to use as a sump/fuge.Does 15" on baffle height sound right to leave enough room for a power outage or pump failure?

I always do the math. first devide the gallons by the height of the display. Then multiply it by how many inches down the lowest part that can return water to the sump I.E return or overflow whichever is lowest. This gives you the amount of gallons that will return to the sump. Then do basically the same with the sump except you want to detemine from the first figure how many inches the level of the sump will increase. Make sure to leave some extra room for the plumbing to drain also. Does this make sense?

thanks, I measured the lowest point where the water will drain then I multiplied 72.5 x 18.5 x 2" and then divided by 231.
