? on feeding clowns

I bought a pair of small clowns and both started eating my small formula 1 pellets right away. They were both eating good, until about a week ago. I have been feeding my cc coral mysis shrimp 3x a week. At first the clowns didn't like the shrimp, but now it's all one of my clowns will eat. He spits out the pellet food. I can't give him the shrimp every day because I'm afraid of my leves spiking from too much food in the tank.(I only have a 12 gal.)Plus I'm sure it's not the best thing for him.
I figured he'd go back to the pellet when he got hungry enough, but it's been a week and he's still only eating the shrimp 3x a week.
what should I do?

nope. I don't know what kind, or how much and I'm afraid of my levels spiking if I over feed so I've stuck with the pellets, flakes and frozen formula 1. He ate the pellets for weeks until he tried the mysis shrimp. So he did like them, he'd just rather have the shrimp. I don't think that will be enough for him though, I'm not sure.

Feed your fish frozen food not the pellets. Do not over feed and your levels will not rise. He likes the mysid shrimp becuase it's better for him. It would be like you choosing freeze dried astronaunt meals over a t-bone steak. I don't know about you, but I would choose the steak. I feed my clowns 15 different frozen foods once per week. Get a scanvenger like a pepermint shrimp or 2 and they will eat up any food the clowns and the corals do not eat.
