GOTCHA!!!!!!!! Little Basterds, I have caught 2 of 6 Damsels using the 2 liter method!! The one (3'' in size) I thought would be the hardest went right in!!! Bagged up a cube of frozen brine in a little net baggie and stuck inside of bottle.
I would have found great pleasure watching this beast swirl down the bowl.
I took him to my LFS for a few bucks in credit however.

3 of 6 yuppie!!!
Have you ever owned a Damsel?
They where cycle fish over a year ago all survived. LFS told me to cycle with them, boy have I learned since then, never will that take place in my home again!! I will use raw shrimp or LR from here on out!!!
Now that I have learned a bit, all I had was those and green Chromis (I still have) to start.
Then I have a clown I added well over the cycle point about 10 months ago, along with Foxface a few months after that clown addition, and that was it for fish, besides inverts. Few weeks ago I added and new baby clown, and a Golden head goby and 2 manderin, one of which the Damsels killed, one maderin left and still gets badly picked on by the damsels.
"6 of them, why would you buy six of them to just return them?"
That is why

lfs would say anything to make money. you should never put in any live animal to cycle a tank(its homicide)

yes I cut the top and spout off, then zipped tied it with 3, cut a few slits to let water in, set it on bottom and pushed it down so that the sand came up into the spout a bit, put a whole piece of frozen brine cube in the little net bag, cut tiny slits in that so that a few of the brine would float about. At first I just put the cube in with no netting and brine got everywhere but caught the 3" + Damsel right off the batt, less than 1 min. next try I put the net bag full of brine and caught the other 2 but took about 5 min. But still fast in my book.
My clown would get close so I would tap the tank and scare him away.

No I did not flush , I just wanted too!!!!!!!! In some evil way I would have enjoyed it though! They are safe and sound at the local fish store!
I did like watching them speed through the rock work man are they fast!! I parted with them because they are much to aggressive for my tank.

same exact thing happened to me...i didn't know anything about the hobby but decided i wanted to set up a salt water tank...i bought the tank and the very next day the lfs sold me four damsels and two clowns....a year and a half they are all still alive and doing well...though i wish i could replace those damsels with other fish they really haven't caused any major problems....
