I have a 55gal tank to use for a sump/fuge. My ? is when I multiply LxWxH and divide by 231 I get total volume of 49.8 gallons now how could that be if the tank is 55 gallons..
I'm trying to figure out baffle height because I want as much water volume as possible..thanks in advance

Manufactuers fudge their numbers a bit. They'll measure by outside dimensions and measure from the very top of the top frame to the very bottom of the bottom frame, etc.
