one-eyed lionfish

My lionfish for some reason has lost its eye... i dont know why it was fine when i bought it. now it is swollen shut and white, almost like its gone. no eye just a big white lump... any ideas why this is???

Swollen shut or is the eye completely white? Lionfish will get cloudy eyes if they are in poor water conditions. What your levels at right now?

If water quality is bad they will get an eye infection and it can cause them to lose their eye completely. Do you have any other fish that may have picked at him or stuck him in the eye? Could he have gotten scared and run into a rock or substrate that could have injured him?
