one-eyed lionfish

My lionfish for some reason has lost its eye... i dont know why it was fine when i bought it. now it is swollen shut and white, almost like its gone. no eye just a big white lump... any ideas why this is???

Have you noticed any aggression on this fish? How is the fish doing otherwise? Can you move him to a hospital tank? When did this process begin. Can you give more details about the progression of this problem?

sure can, hes a sissy. he sits upside down behind a rock most of the day when I first got him, swims all over the place at night and now that he has been in my tank more than a week he swims during the day. has yet to eat but I have read thet they wont for a while :/ one day his eye was just white. looked swollen or pussy. just white and gone. still swims and functions normally. was wondering if this will go away, and no hospital tank... can i treat him in the tank he is in now?

What other fish are in the tank? How long have you had the tank up? What type of tank is it? Is there any aggression or not? What are you trying to feed this fish? Have you tried target feeding?
