I am fastly approaching my 40th b-day and I thought I would never make it..
Still Sharp as a tack IMO
My mentality is still slightly immature like mid to late 20's. Its never left..

Looks and health seem to be holding up.. Knock on wood!
Belly getting a little larger though but not by much (little lie maybe)
I think I have some white hair but I cant really notice since I add highlights. (common I live in South Beach)
Joints are starting to ache a little, I might start taking that L argineen stuff or shark cartilage
Things take longer to heal...
26 year old Fiance' keeps me alert, full of energy and young!

Thats about it... for now. pretty sure will be adding more!
ANYBODY else have experience with this 40 phenomenon, tips? advice? things to look or NOT look forward too?

It's all down hill from there man. I turned 40 and said, "hmmm, doesn't seem like a big deal." Now it's a new ache or pain and getting up in the morning isn't as easy as it used to be. I still feel pretty young though overall. Age is just a number. I'd say I'm in better shape than most of my friends in their 30s and I'm much better looking.

Welcome to the old as dirt club.
40 aint nothin but a thing. Lets see, it's 40 and one day that you gotta watch out for.
I was slim, tall, no gray, no aches, no pains nothin' til 40 and one day. Then this is what happens.
Brace yourself, it aint pretty.

Your doomed !

oh, come on.....life is what you make it. I went to bed on the last night of my 39th year with this thought: I am happy, healthy, have great kids and fantastic hubby and overall (plus or minus a few things) a great life. One more day isn't going make it worse. Well that morning brought disaster to the United States. 9-11. Yep, that day I had many plans.......manicure, pedicure, facial....all of those special girly things that I never do. But things changed quickly. I realized how fast things can change and age won't matter anyway.
So.....I look at things a little differently than some I guess. Any day we are above ground is a good day and our health is EVERYTHING.
Happy early birthday..........everyday is a gift.

I was kidding. I dont even think about it. Everybody made a big deal about it, had this big suprise party and all. Heck it didnt even mean a thing to me to hit 40. No big deal really at all. I'm greyer, yes, acheir than at 20, yes, but it's all good. It aint no thing!
The girls all still think I'm hot

My wife and I are 43 and we are enjoying the aging process entirely. Especially when one of us is bitching about something and the other one says they sound like an old man complaining....... OK I guess it is usually me complaining about something. Yes there is a generation gap between us and the kids, fortunately the music that my daughter likes is pretty cool. I took her to a Jason Mraz concert two weeks ago and really liked it.
The only thing is I was at the Doc and said I had not had my blood tested in awhile, My Cholsterol was 288
So now really having to watch what I eat.

I'm 43 also and it is how you live. That's why I'm sitting here typing with a broken shoulder after crashing my sportbike. I love life and live it to it's fullest. I will say that breaking bones is tougher at 43 and crashing sucks at any age but if I could go back to the day I bought my sportbike and know that crash was going to happen two years later, I wouldn't give it a second thought about buying it anyway.
Now that 26 year old fiance may do you in. I don't have any experience in that area at my age but I think I could still hang!

I made a decision when i turned 40...NEVER get "old" I am now 45 and in the best shape of my life! well , with the exception of one really bad knee
That was a work related injury and my Doc. said age was NOT a factor in a accident. I am 30lbs lighter and wayyyy better off then when i was 30! Enjoy it , it beats the hell out of the alternative huh?

P.S. I am also a fan of dating 15yrs younger , don't mean to offend any one but I just don't get along well with women "my age" The ones I have met seem to dwell on how "old" they are
