I recently converted my tank from agressive to passive.I got some inverts and some clowns, butterflys, Har. Tusk, Purple Tang etc. They all died one by one very quickly. LFS says it is Ooddium, so I teated with Rally (reef safe), for 5 days water change and moved on. The next fish all died. No external signs just weird swimming patterns and what appears to be shaking or vibrating. So I removed the inverts and treated with copper for only a week. Water change and now Perc. Clowns alomost a week old and they once again don't look good. I have this Rally medicine in the tank again. The fish are swimming vertically and vibrating. What is going on?? They barely eat. How can I run this much medicine and still have some deadly bug in the water? I even have a 25w UV running very slow. These fish will be dead on Thurs. What disease kills these fish in 7 days? I know the three stages of Ood. but wouldn't all my medicine treatment kill it? What is my next step? No inverts with copper for how long? Please help, sorry so long.

Terry B thanks for the help. The perc clowns now are breathing heavy not eating and sit vertically in the tank, struggling to swim. This is the same stuff that I saw with all the other fish. I do not quarintine cause i don't have another tank. The store is good and guarantee all fish.I keep them in a bucket and slowly acclimate. The quarintine is a tank with copper, right? The water from the fish store has copper in it. I thought that was enough. Some glass cleaner has been used carefully on the tank.Wouldn't a water change get rid of any bad chemicals?May have been a dumb idea to clean the glass. What books would you suggest. I want have fish only with some inverts. To really nuke this tank are you suggesting keeping it fishless and sandless and doing proper copper treatment for two months? How about draining and starting over. Man am I bummed. I had a successful agressive tank for 3 years.

They have not been scratching. I do not know the lead. How do I test that? You mean tap water or tank water? My inverts are doing great right now. So I might return them to my store and do copper or drain it. Not real sure. I'll have to see if the clowns survive. Can my tap water have poison? How can one test for any? Will Amyloodinium die with no fish in the tank without copper? My inverts are doing real well.Should I keep them and just go fishless. Thanks for your responses.
