Well its been a long time since i have last posted but im getting more courageous on tank building and working with acrylic. Im pretty confident my acrlic skills can lead me into building a fairly large tank. 52L X 52W X 37H. Roughly 433 gallons (if calculated right). Thats not the point though. I would love to get an island tank outta this because i think having a couple sides you cant observe outta is a littly tacky (my personal opinion sorry if i offend anyone). In order too get on topic i want a typical overflow and return line in the middle or a little off center but i dont want it to be the traditional square desighn. Im toying with three 3"- 4" pvc column system in the middle with one cutout to have horizontal not vertical slits in it to be used as an overflow. Basically in the picture it should help you figure out my rambling. The second pipe might have two 1" return lines in tehm or im going to use that as the return. The third column wll be for the power cords for the lights or additional overflow or return. What ever is needed. Eventually with time the pvc with coraline will look like a oil rig pier. The reason i am starting this forum is to introduce the idea and spark intrests in others. I eventually will be doing this on a grand scale but in less than a month im attending college at Texas Tech to study architecture. Hopefully ive explained it enough. Please feel free to add comments change design or totally rag on it. Thanx Felix.

I guess if your from Texas you might have a thing for oil rigs...haha
Sounds fine to me.
I have seen large Island tanks with a black acrylic center box and over flow with a dry section for cords and LR laid up around it.
PS. 52 X is weird, sheets are 48 X unless you want to really spend some money. IDK
Ooopps, never mind, I figured it out 96 X
