Opinions on adding another smaller GSM please.

I have a med/lg GSM and saw a really nice small GSM at my LFS today. I would really like to get him but am afraid mine will not except it in the tank. My tank is a 150 and I have 1 bta that my clown hosts. Am I asking for trouble if I get the little guy? My GSM is possive of any fish coming close to his anenome, even head butted a clam off a near by rock, other then that, he isn't really a mean fish.

how long has the clown been in the tank?

how big is the new maroon, if ur lucky, u should get a pair from doing this

The new one would be about 1 inch the size of the one I have now is about 2 /1/2 inches and I haven't bought the little guy yet, afraid the one I have now will bully it to death since they are not a mated pair. And I will not get him unless I find out it would work.

well the question is, how do pairs form. The pair forms by this violence. So depoending on the level, and ferocity of the larger ones attacks, it could either be hostilities, or pairing.

Well I took the chance and lost. I put the little guy in and my big guy tore him up, bit off a fin and then tried biting him in the side. He head butted him so hard he was swimming sideways, so we took him out of the tank and back to the store. I had no doubt my big guy would have killed him if we hadn't.
