Please offer your opinions...
I purchased 90 pounds of live Haiti Rock. It has been curing for two weeks and I have tested the water. 0 ammonia 0 nitrites 40 nitrates. Also, the rocks do not smell anymore. I did one complete water change after the first week and I had three powerheads going 24/7.
I think the rocks are ready (cured)..
Tank info.
75 gallon
Wet/Dry
Skimmer
Cycled Already
Two Damsels
One yellow Chromie
One featherduster
Bunch of snails and hermits..
25 lbs. of live rock
4 peppermint shrimps
1 coral banded Shrimp
This is my plan:
I want to return the damsels and chromi to my LFS. I plan on removing them by taking out my current rock. Then I plan on adding all 90 lbs. of rock plus the 25 lbs.
Will my invertebrates make it? Should I do something else? Am I correct in assuming that my rock is cured? Your opinions will really help me out?
Thanks

I would think that your rock is cured. If your ammo has been zero for at least a couple days you could add it to your tank.

go ahead and add them all. an ammonia spike would be caused by any die off, but since youv'e cured them, you shouldn't have any. :happyfish

Mine did... I fed them frozen brine and flake, and alternated every other feeding. (Fed every other day)

One of my perculas died!!!I never noticed it eating and it was always breathing heavy and staying in the same spot...The other one eats and moves around...

Sounds like shock to me. How did you acclimate your fish? And what level is your salinity? In my early days I shocked a fish because my salinity was too far off and I didn't acclimate properly.

I have to admit that I made a mistake that I will never make again....I didn't acclimate properly...I just placed the bag for fifteen minutes then add placed them in the tank....You are probably right...I really feel bad b/c my kids had already named the both..
How long should I wait before I buy an anemone?
Will the percula do ok alone?
Any comments would be appreciated...

What type of lighting . An anenome takes quite abit of light. Also your tank needs time to adjust before you really do anything more. I would start with some mushrooms before tackling anything else.

I have Power compact lighting.
96 watt actinic 7100 and 96 watt 6700 (daylight) ....
Is that enough light?
Thx

Probably not enough light for an anemone. Depends on the kind you get thogh. don't rush it. Give your tank a year to six months and think about whether you really want one of those poisonous things. I've heard that if they die, and that easily happens to the best of them, they can poison your whole tank.
Your clownfish will host in any soft hairy corals. Mine like my xenia and go from one clump to another. I've heard of CF that host in hairy mushrooms, toadstools, even the magnet cleaner.
Good luck!

What if I place the anemone towards the top of the rocks? My water readings are exceptional....Why should I wait 6 months to a year?
