orange tree sponge.

I bought an orane tree sponge from my LFS about a week ago. It has been there for a while, so I am somewhat confident it never touched air, and I watched to make sure it didnt during the bagging and acclimization into my tank. It has been staying bright orange, and no algea is growing on it. I feed plankton, but have just started to notice small little "fingers" growing off it. about a quarter inch long, and their are several on it. Is it just growing, or is this a bad sign? anyone ever have anything like this happen? Thanks

I've never had one to live, but that sounds like good signs.

I had one for a short time. It died, but I believe my tank was not mature enough at that time. I've since read they are temperamental.
