Yesterday I went to my Lfs and I was going to buy a cleaner shrimp. But, they didnt have any. So I thought of buying a feather duster but they had only one and it wasnt looking very good. Then I saw these orange polyps and they're pretty neat.
Check 'em out

yup, i have a rock with 3 different areas with orange polyps, and they are all three growing nicely. sorta like they have extra room to expand so they will take advantage of it

Look in the archives there is a fragging thread (its says "want to know how to frag a coral") then you just do how it says and cut the one you want seperate from the others. If you need more details after you look at that thread just ask and I or some one else will flesh out the details for you.(your going to have to scroll down to find the post on zoas)

THats what I was worried about the first time I ever fragged zoanthids now after the upteenth Time I dont even worry. But if you are worried try it on one you have a lot of to get a feel for how its going to go. observe its recovery so you know what to expect and if the worst happens your not out one of the few polyps of it that you have.

I just rip them off with some pliers... :scared:
I always used a X-acto and chipped away at the rock around what I wanted to take away if possible..(Fran Cisco helped me with that)
or my big Green People Eaters..I just cut as close to the base..seems to work 99% of the time...but listen to reef...He knows more than me

they will spread but if the orange centered one is surrounded by yellow center its going to reduce the chance of the orange center color morph spreading and with zoas the dominant one always wins out in that situation.
